The catch of sardines began to increase at 2,500 tons in 2011, reaching 8,100 tons in 2017 and 12,000 tons in 2022.

Nearly 10,000 tons were already caught in the first half of this year, and the catch is expected to increase in the second half as well.

In response to the mass death of sardines last year, the National Aquarium developed processed products such as canned goods and sauces using sardines in the first half of this year, and the local government secured a freezer for rapid processing of dead sardines, and also secured composting facilities and an incinerator. plan.

Through an agreement, the two organizations will △ develop and jointly research feed technology using sardines △ exchange information and human exchange △ jointly use research facilities and analysis equipment, etc.

Accordingly, the Orchard Center provides the source technology needed to develop high-quality fish feed and pet food that reflects the demands of the diversified consumer market, and Entomo Co., Ltd. utilizes this technology to commercialize fish feed and pet food to promote continued consumption of marine products.
